Sometimes being busy is good until you lose that energy after a long day... Rather to sit on the couch, and crack open a beer than go to the gym (there's no shame in that, I've done the same). You say you would go to the gym.. but don't really.
It does help...
Sometimes making a friend or two can be your potential climbing partner. Having a partner who motivates you makes a big difference.

Get back on the grind again.
After weeks or months of not moving around, makes you feel like shit. You're running out of breath, endurance is rock bottom and age sneaks up to you. Losing the performance that you once had, kind of brings you down. It sucks... BUT the beautiful thing about the human body is that it remembers. Building a slow regiment is key.
